A monthly newsletter from the Women's Foodservice Forum

Roadmap Report: Message from the Chair - Paula Marshall

Elevating Women Leaders. That, in a nutshell, is exactly what the Women's Foodservice Forum is all about.  It's our mission, our passion and the sole purpose for our existence.  Throughout the last 16 years, we believe thousands of women in the foodservice industry have been elevated to new positions and challenges.  We are confident that many of those promotions were made possible (or happened faster) because of the leadership and development training provided by WFF.

Real Women, Real Stories is the way we acknowledge and celebrate the successful "elevation" of our women leaders. While the concept is only a year old, we have had dozens of women submit their promotion information (or, in true WFF style, had that information submitted by their friends!) What we believe is that there are hundreds more promotions out there and we want to hear about them!

We want to hear YOUR success story -- have you been promoted in the last year? If so, more

WFF Mentoring Program Reach One and Teach One!

This fall, WFF members got their first glimpse of the new and improved WFF Mentor Program set to launch in Spring, 2007.  While several important improvements make it even more worthwhile and flexible to join the program, the true benefit remains the same:  personal and career development uniquely suited for your needs.

Krystena Sterling, Group Support and Development Services Training Manager for Walt Disney World describes her experience:

"I participated in the mentoring program to help achieve my career goal -- to move into HR from Operations.  I was partnered with a fabulous mentor, Kat Cole.  Kat was in Training and Development and had transitioned from Operations, so she was an excellent mentor for me.  From that mentor relationship, I refocused my career goals, returned to school and obtained a Master's Degree in Human Resource Development.  I recently transitioned from Restaurant Operations to Training and Development for Sales and Services at Walt Disney World.  My involvement in WFF was a catalyst for this transition and my mentoring experience proved to be a huge success.  I set out on this goal in October, 2005 and by August, 2006, I started a new challenge in a completely different field within my company."

The new WFF Mentoring Program will make it easier than ever to find the right match: more
